The more people there were around the table, the happier our co-founder Bernadette—the meals she prepared for friends were typified by the kind of inspired effortlessness that’s totally unforgettable.
Designed in-house here in our Notting Hill studio, we were inspired by the flower she often signed letters with. We thought this collection was a perfect way to pay homage to both Bernadette and Summerill & Bishop’s history.
With this sophisticated piece, Bernadette always has a seat at our table. All the linen from this collection is made of 100% fine Italian linen and have a slightly crushed and soft texture, which makes it wonderfully versatile.
Hand painted and hand stamped in a centuries-old, family run stamperia in Italy, these linens are equally at home in a casual, outdoor setting as they are as part of a more formal, indoor tabletop.
Bernadette's flower in this design is a registered trademark of Summerill & Bishop Ltd.

Dominique Ansel Bakery London will be transforming its interior and exterior floral installations to represent the “Language of Flowers,” this year's Belgravia in Bloom theme. Additionally, the bakery's exquisite Floral Afternoon Tea will be served on the garden terrace each Wednesday to Sunday, with a sweet and savoury menu that traces the path of a flower from seed to full bloom. From a "Seed" of wild mushrooms with confit garlic and squid ink choux, to a "Young Leaf" of smoked salmon with yuzu dill cream and Japanese cucumber, the flower soon grows into a "Bud" of lavender meringue with coconut ganache and passionfruit gelée, then a "Blossom" of mascarpone mousse with Amarena cherry jam and dark chocolate, and finally a "Full Bloom" of brown butter financier with strawberry jam and rose petals. And of course, there's warm fresh-baked scones with homemade fresh berry jam and clotted cream, all accompanied by leaf tea and Champagne.
