The Walala Lounge, a vibrant street installation of Insta-dream benches, planters and flamboyant flags designed by artist, Camille Walala, will be coming to South Molton this September, as part of London Design Festival, sparking joy and positivity in everyone who comes to shop and visit!
Situated along the pedestrianised shopping street, the Walala Lounge is one of LDF’s key festival projects and these playful islands of colour in Walala’s signature bold style will offer visitors a place to rest and relax in the heart of London’s West End. Not to mention, a can’t-be-missed selfie backdrop of stripes, spots and a sea of colour!
From 14 September, the Walala Lounge will also feature an immersive pop-up shop on South Molton – an indoor space transformed by Walala’s abstract installations, with walls and floors adorned in her beautiful bold and colourful prints. As well as the inevitable Insta-appeal, the free space will offer visitors a chance to explore Camille’s inspiration for the design, her artistic influences from the Memphis Movement, as well as a series of talks and classes from fellow creatives.
Don’t miss your chance to purchase your own limited edition piece of Camille’s work with the London Design Festival must-have tote bag – available only from the Walala Lounge pop-up at 20 South Molton. The artistic bags of arm candy are priced at just £10 with all proceeds donated to End Youth Homelessness. What’s not to LOVE?!
Enjoy late openings from the retailers and galleries of Mayfair on Monday 16 September until 9pm (check in stores for participation and details). More detail to follow, watch this space.
We look forward to seeing you there!
