Roland Mouret has joined forces with contemporary gardening and style magazine, Rakesprogress, for a fortnight of floral-inspired installations at the brand’s Mayfair Townhouse.

The location at 8 Carlos Place hosts two consecutive displays inside and outside the townhouse in celebration of summer in the city, starting Monday 19th August.

The first installation takes inspiration from the Suffolk countryside that surrounds Roland’s garden, using dried wheat to reimagine the textures and tones of the landscape. Rakesprogress also turn to the patchwork prints from the Roland Mouret Pre-Fall ’19 collection and the tonal landscapes of conceptual artist, Agnes Denes, as sources of inspiration.

The second installation celebrates British flowers, highlighting the best of British floristry through a collective of leading floral artists in the UK. Raph Verrion, Pyrus Botanicals, Kitten Grayson and Fiona Haser Bizony have been selected by Rakesprogress as artists who put sustainable practises and British flowers at the heart of their work and whose installations will showcase the rise of the homegrown flower industry.

Rakesprogress Editor in Chief, Tom Loxley, will be joined by contemporary florists at the Roland Mouret Townhouse on Wednesday 28th August for an In-Conversation event entitled "The F Word". The discussion will cover the art of floristry, the wonder of working with British flowers and answer the question: when is a florist not a florist, but a floral artist? While stocks last, visitors to the installation will be offered a floral posy inspired by each week’s theme.
