The Connaught hotel’s Christmas tree is located on Mount Street, and this year was designed by contemporary conceptual artist Sir Craig-Martin CBE. The tree is adorned with 12,000 digital rainbow-coloured lights. Every inch of the tree glows and the colours change constantly, it’s a sight you won’t get bored of. Once you’ve admired the tree, why not warm up inside at the Connaught Bar with a classic Connaught Martini (made with handmade bitters).

There’s another reason, aside from sampling superb seafood, to pay a visit to Scott’s this Christmas. This year the Mayfair stalwart has collaborated with British fashion designer Christopher Kane to provide a festive and luminous installation. The outside and the entrance of the restaurant have been adorned with coloured transparent tubes suspended from above, with traditional Christmas colours merging with Kane’s signature neons. At night LED lights see the tubes glow, illuminating the terrace outside. To add to the festive feeling why not sample ‘More Joy’, a special cocktail that has been created by the Scott’s bar team to pay homage to Kane.
