Drinks in Mayfair

Mayfair is one of the best destinations for food and drink in London. Home to some of the capital’s oldest and most exclusive watering holes as well as a choice of welcoming traditional pubs, it boasts a fantastic selection of establishments. The Iron Duke

A traditional pub in the heart of Mayfair, The Iron Duke serves up a selection of high-end dishes and traditional pub grub. There is a good selection of beers and ales on tap and the pub shows a variety of sports events on its big screens. As The Iron Duke serves local office workers and shoppers, it gets very busy at lunchtime and is often quieter in the evenings. A good choice if you’re looking for a classic London pub. 

The Running Horse

Established in 1738, The Running Horse is one of the oldest public houses in Mayfair. In 2013, the pub reopened following a renovation and re-imagination. It now offers a fantastic choice of meals sourced from some of the UK’s best independent food and drink producers. Located just off Oxford Street, in the heart of Mayfair, it’s a great destination for a mouth watering meal or cosy night in the pub. 

The Whip

Another of Davies Street’s excellent establishments, The Whip is a stylish bar that offers a choice of tasty meals and small plates. As well as a good choice of beer and wine, The Whip serves up irresistible original cocktails throughout the week. 

The Guinea

One of the oldest pubs in Mayfair, London, there has been an inn on the site of The Guinea since 1423. The current kitchen opened its doors back in 1952 and has specialised in serving up mouth-watering steaks ever since. Almost all the meat and fish on the menu comes from the UK, although the extensive wine list is sourced from countries around the world.

The Fumoir 

This elegant department store bar boasts 1930s-style décor, leather seats and crystal lighting. Tucked away in Claridge’s, The Fumoir has been serving up cocktails to Mayfair’s most discerning drinkers since 1929. The perfect venue for pre-theatre drinks and post-theatre nightcaps, the bar has a cosy, stylish interior and an extensive cocktail menu. 

Coburg Bar at The Connaught

Located inside the beautiful Connaught Hotel, the Coburg Bar offers an excellent choice of cocktails, premium drinks and vintage spirits. As well as drinks, the bar has a good choice of all-day dining options.

The Luggage Room

One of Mayfair’s best kept secrets, The Luggage Room is an intimate cocktail bar for those in the know. The bar serves classic cocktails as well as contemporary and unique concoctions. Wines and spirits are also available and there’s a food menu featuring high quality ingredients sourced from the British Isles. 

The Betterment

The Betterment by Jason Atherton is one of the best restaurants in Mayfair. Its in house bar is a fantastic place to enjoy outstanding cocktails made from the highest quality ingredients. If you’re planning a meal out at The Betterment, make sure you get there early enough to enjoy a drink.

The Colony Grill 

The Colony Grill is inspired by the traditional grill rooms found in London and New York. As well as a high quality food menu, the eatery boasts its very own bar. Known as The Magritte Bar, it serves a wide choice of classic and original cocktails. The bar specialises in bourbons and American whiskies.

The Beaumont

One of Mayfair’s best hotels, The Beaumont offers a choice of lounges, bars and eateries. The hotel has a beautiful interior, high quality food and drink and outstanding service, ensuring everyone who visits enjoys an unforgettable experience. 

Connaught Bar 

If you’re looking for delicious and unique cocktails, Mayfair has a lot of bars to choose from. The Connaught is arguably one of the best, with its cubist-inspired interior and cosy atmosphere. Recently named the ‘Best Bar in Europe’, the Connaught has an extensive menu of cocktails and a great selection of meals and small plates. Known for its martinis, this is an excellent place to relax after a day of shopping in Mayfair or a night at the theatre. 

Davies & Brook

Davies & Brooks, Claridge’s new stylish bar and restaurant, offers an excellent choice of wine and champagne as well as cocktails and craft beers. Visit Davies & Brooks for a long lunch and stay for afternoon drinks. Alternatively, turn up for an indulgent dinner and spend the evening sampling everything this welcoming bar and restaurant has to offer.

Wine bars in Mayfair 

Fino’s Wine Cellar 

As well as a fantastic wine list, Fino’s boasts an excellent choice of authentic Italian dishes. This family-run eatery has been open for almost 50 years and is one of the best-known wine bars in Mayfair, London, UK. A great place to enjoy specially selected wines and mouth-watering food, it’s tucked down a picturesque street close to Berkeley Square. 

Comptoir Café & Wine

Comptoir Café serves breakfast, pastries, sandwiches, hot drinks and small plates from the morning through to the evening. Hiding underneath the cellar is Mayfair’s best-kept secret. You will find 100s of champagnes and nearly 2000 bottles of wine from all over the world. You are able to purchase bottles to take home, but Comptoir also has a dine in service too.
