This week, Qatari Diar’s Chelsea Barracks opens to the public for the first time in over 150 years to reveal two of the development’s seven garden squares; Mulberry Square and Bourne Walk.
Landscape architect Neil Porter of Gustafson Porter & Bowman, together with the team at Chelsea Barracks, has called upon the creative input of Jo Thompson MSGD to create two floral spectaculars for thepublic to enjoy, in time for the 2019 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
“We incorporated evergreen hedging to break up the expansive length of Mulberry Square, and then herbs, planting, vegetables and flowers have been entwined to create an artistic patchwork.” Jo Thompson, landscape and garden designer, whose involvement follows her gold medal winning Chelsea Barracks garden at the 2016 Chelsea Flower Show.
In addition to the garden squares opening this May, Chelsea Barracks Kitchen by Ollie Dabbous will be opening, exclusively, for the duration of Chelsea Flower Show (21-25th May 2019), at the heart of Chelsea Barracks, in Belgravia.
