The Berkeley Hotel is the last word in quintessential British elegance.  The epitome of modern luxury, it’s the place to go when quiet sophistication is essential and conscious indulgence is the order of the day.  An entry in every little black book, The Berkeley has always had a passion for creativity, design and service and continues to collaborate with leading lights from the world of food, drink, fashion and interiors.

Whether you’re dropping by for a chic breakfast, have planned a special dinner at Michelin-starred Marcus from Marcus Wareing or just want to drop by for a celebrated cocktail, you’ll always find something to satisfy your desire.

The afternoon Prêt-à-Portea in the Collins Room, an homage to fashion, has become legendary along with the masterclass from Head Pastry Chef Mourad Khiat, where you can become your very own ‘Shoe Chef’, creating sartorial edible treats including Manolo Blahnik stiletto biscuits and Moschino sponge handbags.  There’s also the Bamford spa if you want to stop time for a while and enjoy one of the best massages in London followed by a colour-coded cocktail at the Blue Bar.  The Meta menu is not to be missed. Explore a flavour map and enjoy one of the 16 curated cocktails to suit your mood.  The experience gives the term pick-me-up a whole new meaning.

General Manager, Knut Wylde who has been in Belgravia for four and a half years knows the area like the back of his hand and loves every inch of it.  Not only because it is home to The Berkeley but also because of the rich community spirit – peaceful yet vibrant.  The residential feel and neighbourhood love makes it a home from home for him and that feeling extends to The Berkeley.

His favourite areas are Kinnerton Street, Motcomb Street and Eccleston Yards, particularly because of the exquisite architecture, independent shops and eclectic pop up events. Knut’s personal favourites are the annual Carol Concert at St Paul’s, Knightsbridge and the Motcomb Street Party.

When he has a moment to himself, you’ll find him shopping for candles and gifts at the irresistible Rachel Vosper and he enjoys visiting The Scent Library where you can create bespoke blends for candles and home fragrances.  A visit to Olivomare, his favourite Sardinian seafood restaurant, is a treat - his favourite lunch is Linguine Al Grancho - and he also loves to stop off for a drink at his local, The Grenadier, which was originally built in 1720 and was the officers’ mess for the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards.
