Throughout March, Adrian Alan Ltd will be showcasing exceptional 19th century French furniture and works of art, including some extraordinary and unique pieces.
La Danse des Bacchantes’ - La Grande Vitrine Faune et Faunesse, By Maison Roux et Brune.
A magnificent and highly important Louis XV style gilt-bronze mounted marquetry and parquetry sculptural Grand Vitrine. This exceptional vitrine with superb marquetry inlaid panels and expressive gilt-bronze figures, must rank as one of the most important and sumptuous pieces of furniture to have been created during the late 19th century.
An Exceptionally Rare and Important Louis XV Style Gilt-Bronze Mounted Marquetry Inlaid Centre Table by François Linke, the Mounts Designed by Léon Messagé.
Of exhibition quality this magnificent table has a fine marquetry inlaid top and sumptuous gilt-bronze mounts.
Messagé’s enhanced Louis XV Rococo style embraces the asymmetrical lines of designers such as J.A. Meissonnier, to create lively and emotive figures linked by sinuous encadrement, but cleverly modernised to reflect the surge of popularity of the Art Nouveau.
A Fine Louis XVI Style Gilt-Bronze Twenty-Four Light, Two-Tier Chandelier, in the Manner of Pierre Gouthière with charming putti figures playing trumpets.
The design for the chandelier is an adaptation of the model designed by Pierre Gouthière for Le Cabinet Doré in Marie-Antoinette's private apartments at the Palace of Versailles.
