H.R. Higgins

H.R. Higgins (Coffee-Man) Ltd., established in central London in 1942, is a specialist supplier of exceptional coffees and teas.

Operating from its shop and café Duke Street, London W1 and roasting all of its coffees from Waltham Abbey in Essex, H.R. Higgins is now run by David Higgins, the grandson of founder Harold Rees Higgins.

In 1942, Harold launched the business to supply the finest teas and coffees to local businesses affected by the Second World War. Harold would roast by day and by night, he would watch for air raids. Business boomed, and in the 1970s, Harold’s son Tony took the reins of the business before handing over to David in 1982.

In 1979, H.R. Higgins were delighted to be awarded the Royal Warrant for coffee merchants which they still proudly hold to this day.

With nearly 75 years of expertise, H.R. Higgins ethically sources, expertly roasts and hand packs all of its teas and coffees which are sold in the shop, online and through wholesale.

Tony and David still taste together every day and continue to share their passion for outstanding teas and coffees with the world.
